New Fleet Foxes Song

31 Jan

I’ll admit I’m a little late to the Fleet Foxes party but this one song has made me go out and pick up their self-titled 2008 debut. I don’t know why but I really enjoyed their brand new tune Helplessness Blues.

They have a new album coming out in May that goes by the same name as the new single. If it is anything like this song it may rank very high on my favourite albums of 2011 because this song has already cemented itself in my favourite songs of the year, but its early.

Check out Helplessness Blues below and enjoy the free download.

Holy shit I am glad I logged onto the wireless at this hotel because Paul David & Barletta just dropped a nasty little number on us. I can’t get enough of both of these guys and the collaboration only intensifies the talent that is brewing up in the Burner Records outfit. This is a Big Tuuune!

Before I take off for a weekend of skiing I will leave you with a banging trance tune courtesy of Dash Berlin and featuring vocals from Aussie- Emma Hewitt. This is a radio rip from Tiesto’s club life I believe but there are no tags and it is excellent quality. You can buy this track along with the dub mix and the radio edit HERE

Ellie Goulding covers Elton John’s classic Your Song and Peter Shorten throws a subtle dubstep remix over it to create an awesome track.

You can listen to this one below and download it for free. If you like what you hear click here to hear some other Peter Shorten remixes.

Brand New Bright Eyes Song and Download

26 Jan

Bright Eyes are back with a brand new album titled The People’s Key. It is slated for release on February 15th but today we have a brand new song off that album available for free download.

Haile Selassie is an amazing song that makes me think that the new album will be one of the best to come out of the Bright Eyes camp. It’s catchy and simple but very addictive. Unfortunately we can’t offer you a preview of the song, so your just going to have to take my word for it. Have I ever lied to you?

To download this song, you just need to Click Here and provide your email to Saddle Creek records. If your a big Bright Eyes fan already you can pre-order The People’s Key by Clicking Here in CD/MP3 or Vinyl format.

Explosions In The Sky Album Teaser

25 Jan

Explosions In The Sky are am amazing band. I’ve been listening to them for a few years and constantly listen to All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone while studying for midterms and finals. After taking a few years off they will be releasing a new album on April 26th entitled Take Care Take Care Take Care.

Today the band released the tracklisting and a video teaser for the new album. You can view both below.

Explosions In The Sky are not your typical band, as they do not include any vocals in their music, it is all instrumental which leaves the music open to many different interpretations. If you haven’t listened to this band before, take this opportunity to expose yourself to some excellent musicians and a genre of music you may not have experienced before.

1. Last Known Surroundings
2. Human Qualities
3. Trembling Hands
4. Be Comfortable, Creature
5. Postcard from 1952
6. Let Me Back In

Download Purp & Patron Mixtape

25 Jan

The Game is back with a brand new Mixtape untitled Purp & Patron. This one features a whole slew of people including Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, T-Pain, Rick Ross and many other.

It’s is a two disc 29 song mixtape so there should be something for everyone. This one is hosted by Funk Master Flex and DJ Skee and you can pick it up by Clicking Here.

It’s a free download so go get it, because you can never have enough free music. Enjoy.

B-Side Album Download from The Graduate

25 Jan

Today The Graduate put up a Pay-What-You-Want download of B-side songs from their latest album Only Every Time. They ask for a 4.49 donation as all proceeds from this b-side release will go to them getting back on the road to tour, but if you can’t afford that, then picking up the album for free is fine with them.

The B-Side is titled Every Other Time and comes with 5 brand new fully produced and mixed songs that were written for the original album but just didn’t make the cut. These aren’t demos or roughcuts but full songs, which I love. I’ve never understood why artists would release Itunes only bonus tracks and restrict their listeners so this B-side release is a great idea.

Listen to the B-side album below and click on the link to go download it. Bandcamp only allows for so many free downloads so you better get yours early before the opportunity vanishes.

Kaskade 2011

22 Jan

Kaskade blew up in 2010 and there is no sign of slowing down. Here’s the preview for the upcoming remix to the breakout hit alongside Tiesto. I’m going to throw it out there right now and say that Tiesto will be back in his #1 spot as best DJ in the world and Kaskade will not be far behind.

Another Teenage Dream

22 Jan

While were on the topic of guilty pleasures here is one from Katy Perry that has been raped and pillaged by remixes. If you’re open to hearing ONE more then press play on this great prog house remix from Scottish dj/producer Barrientos. He gives it the club treatment while keeping crucial elements from the original and adding in a massive buildup with an equally satisfying drop.

Bonus: Check out his remix to Two Door Cinema- What You Know as well as another prog house gem and check him out on Soundcloud, Facebook, Twitter and Official Site
