The weekend is finally here and for anyone in the Toronto area, this is for YOU. Space Ibiza makes its first appearance in North America bringing with it an unbelievable lineup. M.A.N.D.Y, Adam Beyer, Oliver Ingrosso, Camlo Franko and my favourite DJ/Producer of ALL TIME- Adam K (to name a few) will be shredding the Sound Academy dance floor all night. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet now is your chance! Head over to the Space Ibiza Facebook page for prices and details.
Adam K- You’re Not Alone (Adam K & Soha Remix)
This is going to be an extra special night for me since it will mark the first time I get to see the man who is responsible for getting me into house music live. I had the opportunity to interview him on the last episode of my radio show on CJAM 99.1 FM in April to chat about his musical history, collaborating with Soha, HotBox Digital, ‘Daunt Kick My Bag Bitch’ and the future of electronic music. If you are as big of a fan as I am than this is a good interview to find out about the man behind the decks. Oh and if you don’t have it already, I strongly suggest buying Adam K’s standout track- ‘You’re Not Alone’- it may just change your life…
Chiddy Bang are dropping the Peanut Butter and Swelly Mixtape this friday and the first leak just dropped. When You’ve Got Music is the first track to drop and is features samples drawn from The Knocks but is classic Chiddy Bang.
Xaphoon tosses his electronic drum lines while Chiddy has a rap that is a bit slowed down from prior Chiddy Bang material. Peanut Butter and Swelly is probably the last release before Chiddy Bang drop their new album, so expect a few songs from the full length on this mixtape.
You can stream the song and download it below. Enjoy
When You’ve Got Music – Chiddy Bang (feat. The Knocks)
FINALLLY!!! I have been scouring the web for a full quality version of this track since Avicii dropped this in his BBC Radio 1 set awhile back. Otto Knows is a relatively unknown producer who seems to be leading a fresh 2nd line of Swedish producers behind the unstoppable Swedish House Mafia. Avicii, Otto Knows and Oliver Ingrosso (Sebastien Ingrosso’s cousin) have been teaming up to create several tracks including ‘Loopede‘, ‘Gino’ and ‘ITrack‘. Although the trio has not garnered mainstream success as of yet, the future is very bright for the young Swedes. Keep an eye out for Otto Knows and hopefully we will see a new supergroup forming out of Sweden!
In other news, Deadmau5 has recently revealed that he has a completed track in collaboration with Imogen Heap. Big things in the house world and you know Ambassador Beats will have all the latest and greatest!
After three long years of waiting, Living With Lions have finally released a new album entitled Holy Shit. If you are familiar with their older material you know they are one of the best pop punk bands to ever come out of Canada, and if this is your first experience with them, you are in for a treat.
Holy Shit is 36 minutes of fast-paced punk rock that gets better every time you listen to it. I picked up my copy on Tuesday and it has been on constant repeat ever since.
Tracks like Regret Song and Maple Drive Is Still Alive are straight forward lyrically but draw an emotional response that many bands only hope for.
Holy Shit is a must listen for any punk rock fan as it is one of the best albums I have heard this year. Living With Lions are currently touring across Canada before heading state-side at the end of the month. You can catch them in London Ontario on May 26th or in Windsor on the 27th.
You can check out my favourite two songs on the album below, Maple Drive is Still Alive and Rough Around The Edges, and if you haven’t already head to Itunes to buy Holy Shit.

Robots With Rayguns just dropped another electro/pop/disco track that I couldn’t NOT post. The remix brings out a distinctive old school 80’s feel to it that really gets my blood pumping. Its a disco meets EDM circa 2011 if you will. Download it below and check out Robots With Rayguns on Soundcloud, Twitter and Facebook!

Today is a special day for us as we celebrate Codhoppers birthday and the 1 year anniversary of Ambassador Beats.com!! As Codhoppers hopes to make the transition from boy to man this year, we are in full support of his life decisions and actions.

We hope to keep this blog an intimate and personal experience for you and as always your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
In celebration of our big day I am happy to bring you three mashups that have been on repeat over the past week. D.veloped dropped another quality mash which features Blink 182, Rich Boy, Jay-Z, Marvin Gaye and R3K brings together Kid Cudi and Florence & The Machine for a perfect duet. Finally, Djs from Mars fuse the classic Robin- Show Me Love with Adele. Pump these hard and if you haven’t already… LIKE us on Facebook, FOLLOW us on Twitter and SEND us your tracks!
Ambassador Beats is proud to present Francoise Hamilton, part of the 1st Class crew that is taking over Richmond Virginia. You may recognize Francoise as she was featured on Illa Scorsese’s Illavation which was released last month.
X’s & O’s is the debut mixtape from Francoise and you can download it for FREE below. Be sure to cop this and support good music.
Drake dropped a brand new mixtape a few days ago entitled O.V.O. His debut LP Thank Me Later was one of my favourite albums of last year, but didn’t live up to the hype that was expected from Drizzy.
Drake’s new album Take Care is set for release later in 2011 so until then we have O.V.O. to enjoy. Drake made his name in the rap game by releasing a series of mixtapes before he hit mainstream success.
You can head over to Dat Piff right now to download the mixtape for free and check back to Ambassador Beats for more Drake updates as they come. Enjoy.
Herzog is a DJ and producer originally from Austria but has set down roots in NYC. Because there isn’t a whole lot of quality dubstep/rap out there, other than Hip Hop Heavies that The Conductor releases, Herzog decided he was going to fill the void.
This morning he sent over Fameless, a dubstep/rap tune that instantly impressed me. Its a nice mix of rap vocals and subtle dubstep bass lines. I’m excited to see what else Herzog can come up with.
You can stream and download Fameless below and check out Herzog’s Soundcloud here. Enjoy
The latest single from Decoders Frozen in Motion album just dropped, and WhiteNoise has already given it the remix treatment.
This is a dubstep tune that doesn’t have the signature heavy bass lines that most dubstep fans have come to expect. It almost sounds a little more electro then dubstep but its still an outstanding song
You can stream and download the track below, and if you like it go and get Frozen In Motion right now.
Radio rips, remixes and edits of this track have been in heavy rotation over the past few weeks and I am happy to finally release the official extended mix from arguably three of the biggest rock stars in the world right now. In a generation where dj’s are the new Jimmy Pages and Mick Jaggers- its clear that these guys have reached platinum status. ‘Save The World’ will bring the trio into another echelon with a wider fan base and mass appeal. The track features vocals from John Martin and will no doubt be the summer anthem of 2011!
Its almost that time of the year where electronic music fans, media, djs and producers flock to Hart Plaza in Detroit for the annual Detroit Electronic Music Festival known as Movement. I went last year for the first time and stepping off the bus in Detroit was like walking into a different planet. After witnessing jaw dropping sets from guys like Excision, A-Trak and Orlando Voorn we quickly got situated at the Vitamin Water stage where London native John Acquaviva stole the night with an onslaught of techno and tech house beats. For those who don’t know…
Movement has become the ultimate stage for the city that founded techno music to showcase its electronic music muscle.
Starting at Noon on Saturday, May 28th Techno heads, House heads and electronic dance music enthusiasts from across the globe will pour through the turnstiles at Detroit’s Hart Plaza for the start of Movement 2011. And for the next three days and nights they will have a chance to experience the ultimate outdoor electronic music venue. 36 hours of music; 4 stages and more than 70 electronic music artists and DJs. Last year’s attendance nearly reached 90,000 over the three days of the festival.
This year Movement is bringing in a lot of talent including heavy hitters Carl Craig, Fatboy Slim, Richie Hawtin, Calvertron, Felix Da Housecat and Skrillex. If you haven’t already grab your weekend pass over at the Movement Electronic Music Fest facebook page
Also, check out the new single from John Acquaviva and company and head over to beatport to buy the ‘Good Music’ EP
Illa has finally released the first visual from Illavation. Thought I Had It All features Cakes and Lela Biz and is a great representation of Illa Scorsese and Virginia. Check it out above and click here to Download Illavation.

Just came across NOTIMEFOR and thought I would share their new video for Things Are Going Pretty Good. This song comes from their brand new EP Happy Youth which is set to be released tomorrow. NOTIMEFOR hail from Italy but are attacking the pop-punk scene with great guitar hooks and sing-a-long choruses. Enjoy.
Jessie J is killing it over in the UK with her debut album “Who Are You” sitting at the top of the charts. Unfortunately due to North America lagging when it comes to quality international releases you are probably just hearing this now. ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ is currently ranked 18th in the country for top singles and DnB producer Netsky went and upped the ante. Grab this track and become enlightened on the hottest new female act to emerge from across the pond.
M-Rock got my attention when he released his Best of Kanye West mixtape in January. I have rocked out to that mix so many times in the last couple months, and I even did a post on it.
This morning when I woke up, M-Rock had sent a tweet to Ambassador Beats about his new mixtape, and I was instantly excited. Turns out M-Rock has just released The Best of A Tribe Called Quest Mixtape that features over 60 songs.
I never really got into A Tribe Called Quest, mostly because I was 10 at the time their last album was released and I didn’t get into rap till much much later, but I will definitely use this mixtape to acquaint myself with them. I think you should do the same.
You can listen and download the mixtape below. Click on Read More to check out the full track list.
