I rarely listen to Hip Hop anymore but when I do, it’s either classics from Biggie or new stuff from Illa Scorsese.
I’m not trying to make comparisons but they both possess that extra, hard to pinpoint quality. The clever lyricism, overall presence and demeanour demand your attention.
So when Illa threw up the live version of ‘Might Get It’ everything clicked for me. He is exactly what hip hop should be. Having fun, laying down bars with some buddies and just enjoying music and its endless possibilities.
Hats off to Illa and hats off to TMac, Bravo and whoever made this beat.
For full credits watch the video cause it’s got more shoutouts than a DJ Clue jam
Wrapping up the best tracks of 2011 hasn’t been easy. Over the past 12 months thousands of tracks were released in varying styles and with the popularity of genre blending, categorizing them has been a daunting task.
After revealing our Best Of’s Trance, Dubstep, House, Prog House, Electro, Tech House & Mashups we decided to highlight some of the tracks that just missed the cut.
For the sake of this ‘Best Of’ series and my sanity, we have picked our favourite tracks of 2011 based on genres categorized by Beatport. With that being said, our picks are purely based on personal taste and they give remixes the same weight as an original track.
Vico Ono always strikes when the irons hot and with the success of Childish Gambino’s latest album i’d say this is perfect timing. He takes the standout track ‘Bonfire’ and mixes it with the always pleasant instrumental from ‘Under The Bridge’.
Download ‘Bonfire Under The Bridge’ below and head over to Vico Ono’s Soundcloud page for many more mashups.

We all know that you can’t have a successful roady without good tunes. After concluding a 7,000 km road trip that brought me from London, Ontario to Whitehorse, Yukon I am happy to say that I made it alive and that I ‘test drove’ the shit out of my music collection.
Hit the jump to find out which 5 tracks went the distance.
I am minutes away from embarking on the biggest road trip of my life. Over 6,000 km, 6 provinces and a two week timeline. In preparation for this adventure I have hand picked my top 10 favourite road trip songs.
Mac Miller just dropped the video for Party on Fifth Ave. This is the third single from Blue Slide Park and Mac gives a new spin to a classic beat. I really think Blue Slide Park is going to catapult Mac Miller into another stratosphere, what do you think?
Britain got the hip hop-dubstep connection years before we even knew what DUBSTEP was over here. Guys like Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green and Foreign Beggars should be considered OG’s and their popularity in the U.K mirrors that of guys like Jay-Z, Kanye West & Lupe Fiasco (who have all coincidently recently made the hip hop dubstep collab).
When I came across this star studded lineup it was hard not expect a hit. The beat is hard as fuck but maintains a balance between SOFI’s vocals and a heavy bassline. At times it sounds like a radio hit but then Foreign Beggars and Vulgatron jump in and the genius behind Millions Like Us prevails.
This track is featured on SOFI’s ‘Locked & Loaded Ep Part 1’ which was released on Mau5trap Records today. Buy it here and preview this tasty treat below.
SOFI, Millions Like Us, Foreign Beggars & Vulgatron- Joyride
Ok so I’m a few days late on this but better late than never right? I picked up the I Love Life, Thank You mixtape a couple days ago when it dropped and forgot to add it to iTunes until today. On the first listen I came across his Love Lost track which Mac lays a verse over a Temper Trap sample.
If you’re a long time Ambassador Beats reader you’ll remember how I used to post any and ever remix that featured The Temper Trap. I love their Conditions album and still listen to it regularly, so when I came across Mac Millers version I have high expectations.
Thankfully Mac does the track justice and has now successfully pumped me up even more for Blue Slide Park.
Music and working out go together like peanut butter and my Gramma’s homemade strawberry jam. The idea of matching your music with exercise is not a new idea. It first came to my attention when LCD Soundsystem released 45:33 which was a 45 minute track that matched the progression of a run with the tempo of beats. It was released as part of Nike’s Original Run and led to various other mixes by the likes of Eric Morillo and more.
The combination is a must whether you’re going for a brisk walk or balls to the wall and thanks to Run Hundred.com I have the key ingredients to your October gym tunes.
Run Hundred is a website dedicated to finding the best workout songs and is categorized into genres, decades and tempo. To check out this month’s list hit READ MORE and to be apart of November’s hottest gym tracks check out their website at RunHundred.com
I’m surprised more people haven’t sampled Boston by Augustana. The opening piano line is amazing and The Two Friends have taken that opening and flipped it into a great beat for Don’t Go.
Matt Clarke and KAM Royal both have great verses on this track and it will sure have people asking for more. I’m excited to see what else comes out of the Blackbook Music Group camp as this song is amazing.
Stream and download the track below and share it with all your friends. When they ask where you got this track, just remember Ambassador Beats brought it to you.
I’ve posted about Sif.Like.Piff before and yesterday he dropped a brand new video for his track High All Day. This track comes from the Musical Fix 3 Mixtape and features a verse from Gwap. The beat is hot, the verses are tight, and the visuals are great. Check out this video and look into Sif.Like.Piff, you’ll be blown away.
It’s been a minute since we got some new material from Illa Scorsese but the wait is finally over. He has been hitting the studio hard lacing beats with his signature smooth flow and Lonely Road is his latest single.
This Mitchy Luv produced track features Garnett Boldin and as the intro tells you, we are in for a special treat. It’s off Unauthorized Biography (of Cam G) which we should expect to drop at the end of next month.
Until then check out and download Lonely Road below. Lonely Road – Illa Scorsese ft. Garnett Boldin
Hip Hop meets Dubstep yet again for an unbelievable collaboration between producer Charlie Darker and lyricist Dante Leon. This track is impressive from start to finish and Dante’s bars are the perfect match for this bass filled heater.
After you d/l Vader check out Charlie Darker on Soundcloud and preview the beatport chart topping remix he did for Mord Fustang below.

Jane Doze are an NYC based duo that know how to execute a seamless mash. Their latest effort brings together the smooth flow of Big Sean with Zeds Dead’s notorious bass filled instrumentals. This mashup is perfect and the dubstep hip hop combo is the bees knees in my books.
Check out more from Jane Doze on their Soundcloud and check out the standout track from the Ambassador Beats x Illa Scorsese dubstep meets hip hop mixtape below…

With over 55,000 plays on the Soundcloud preview alone this track was setting up to be one of the most anticipated songs of the year. Alesso’s recent rise to stardom and hit ‘Calling’ didn’t hurt the hype either.
Thankfully today is the day that we can all breathe a sigh of relief as DEVolution’s smash single ‘Good Love’ has hit digital stores. With remixes from Dodge & Fuski, Rude Kid, Anthems Not Bangers and my favourite- Alesso, this is a remix pack that will go the distance.
Preview the full Alesso remix below and head over to Itunes to grab them all!
A brand new song just appeared on Drake’s blog, October’s Very Own. If we can believe anything from his post, we are to expect three songs tonight! Most likely all three of these tracks were cut from the album, but that cannot be confirmed. Regardless I’ll post them as they appear.
The first track is entitled Club Paradise and has a chilled out beat and sounds like a tribute to his past ladies, strippers and his Toronto boys. It’s a nice mix of singing and rapping and reminds you why Drake blew up.
Stream and download Club Paradise below and check back as more songs are due to appear.
As promised Drake dropped another 2 tracks last night. Unfortunately I was in bed by the time they were released so I am bringing them to you this morning. One features Rick Ross and is entitled Free Spirit. The other is actually a Waka Flocka Flame Remix that Drake throws a verse on. Both are decent but just confirm my thoughts that none of these songs will make Take Care. That is why I have come to call them the Take Care Cuts. Stream and Download Free Spirit and the Round Of Applause Remix below.
Azad Right is in pure promo mode right now in anticipation of The Time Is Right Mixtape. Earlier this week he preformed at the Jay Rock’s album release party along with Kendrick Lamar. During his performance he tells the story of how he met Nas a few weeks ago and Nas asked him to spit a verse. The video shows Azad unleashing his audition verse before bursting into I’ll Be Around.
It was just the other day I was talking about only listening to Foster The People when someone does a remix of one of their songs. Well that happened once again today when Illroots posted the DJ Reflex remix of Pumped Up Kicks.
This remix features some vocals from Kendrick Lamar and it works extremely well. Now I’m not too familiar with a lot of Kendrick Lamar’s stuff but I am liking what I am hearing. Plus Ambassador Beats favourite Azad Right recently played a show with Lamar.
Stream and download DJ Reflex’s remix below and let us know what you think.
