Listen To A Forbidden Dance by Alesana

28 Sep

Alesana are back with a brand new album entitled A Place Where The Sun Is Silent which is set to drop October 18th.

A couple days ago they released a new single which you can stream below. A Forbidden Dance is modern screamo done perfectly. It mixes in melodic vocals with screaming, infectious guitar lines, and trumpets! I’m a sucker for a trumpet part.

I really like where Alensana are going with this toned back screamo sound. I’m excited to hear the rest of the album but until then I’ll just keep A Forbidden Dance on repeat.

Hawthorne Heights Hate EP Released Today

23 Aug

Hawthorne Heights released their brand new Hate EP today. It is available in all digital record stores and physical copies can be picked up from their shows and from their online store.

Last week we brought you the EP trailer and now we are pleased to be streaming two songs off the EP below.

Hate is the first screamo sounding release I have heard in years and it brings me back to the times when Emery and Senses Fail dominated my CD player. This EP definitely has an emo feeling to it, but I love it. Hawthorne Heights have gone through a tremendous amount of struggles over the past decade and deserve to Hate some things.

New Senses Fail Music Video

10 Mar

Senses Fail just released a music video for their latest single New Years Eve. This song is from their 2010 release The Fire.

Senses Fail have gone through a transitional phase in the last couple years both musically and physically. There has been an almost revolving door of new members in the band so its nice to see a firm line up and plans to tour.

The tour starts today and goes for the next month. For dates and more information you can head to their Facebook page. Check out New Years Eve below.

New Video From Funeral For A Friend

10 Jan

Funeral For A Friend are a British band that grew in popularity during the “emo” music years. A lot of people either love the music for its raw emotional lyrics and hard hitting guitar parts, or hate it because of the sappy lyrics and screaming.

Most emo bands have mostly disappeared, but there are a few who are trying to continue to release music, just with a little bit of a harder mentality. That is the case with FFAF.

Their new album Welcome Home Armageddon that is slated for release on March 14th has toned down the sappy side and increased the hard hitting guitar lines. You can check out their brand new video for Front Row Seats To The End Of The World below and figure out for yourself if you like their new sound.

Bamboozle Lineup Announced

16 Dec

So what are you doing the last weekend of April? Well you should be headed to New Jersey to watch one hell of a lineup at Bamboozle. With Lil Wayne, Taking Back Sunday, Wiz Khalifa and Motely Crue, these shows are going to be unreal! There is literally something for everyone with such a wide variety of new and classic acts appearing over the weekend.

The Bamboozle festival has been around for a while, I’ve ever had a few opportunities to go, but unfortunately passed them up to play baseball, but one of my best friends goes almost ever single year. I’m sure he will ask if I want to go this year, and with Chiddy Bang, A Day To Remember and New Found Glory playing, I might just take him up on the offer.
