First off, we wanted to talk about your past. How did you get into Electronic music?

I’ve been doing it for about 10 years since I was 14. I was into hip hop productions and stuff like that, basically like how everyone else starts out here in North America. I took a trip over to Europe and I saw Digweed play live and that really turned it over for me. And I’ve been doing the electronic stuff ever since for about the last 3 or 4 years.

We’ve been out to Halifax and it seems that everything is a little bit slower out there. People are more relaxed and low key. What’s the EDM scene like there and how did you break out into it.

Well it’s a smaller scene and as many people will tell you its really hard to make it anywhere in your home town. But we have all the world class acts come through here. A couple weeks ago we had Wolfgang Gartner, I’ve opened for Andy Moore, Glenn Morrison is coming in a couple weeks so I mean we do get the big talent that comes through. We have some really good promoters in the city so that helps.

Things really picked up after you won Pete Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam in 2009. We wanted to talk about what that did for your career. What kind of opportunities opened up for you?

That track was the first dance track I ever made, before that it was all hip-hop. One of my other local friends named Donno, he submitted one of his tracks and he ended up winning so that was what urged me to do it. Then I ended up winning and since then it has spiraled and I’ve been doing it ever since.

You recently opened up for Wolfgang Gartner, one of the most highly respected electronic music artists in the world. What kind of experience was that like for you?

He’s been here 3 times and I’ve opened for him every time. The vibe is always crazy when he is in town and there’s something about his music, he’s amazing.

In talking about the support you have been getting lately, just in the past year you have received international praise from the likes of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Markus Shulz to name a few. How do you set your goals and aspirations now that you have had this kind of exposure?

Its kind of tough but you have to keep going with it and aim for the big support. Its hard keeping up because you have to be productive and there’s so many artists to keep up with. My advice is to keep working hard and hope that the big guys continue to support you.

You’ve recently launched your own label, Dezire Records alongside Lee Frazer. What can we expect you guys to release in the near future?

We just had a track released today titled ‘Happy Birthday’ by In5um in 2 days I have a 2 track EP of my own. Basically Dezire is an outlet for my original stuff.

In speaking of your production, what kind of software and/or hardware do you use?

Believe it or not I use FL studio and I love it. It’s not what you use but how you use it. I use all soft synth plug-ins like silence and predator.

Can you fill us in on some upcoming releases?

I just signed an original tune to Spinnin Recordings, the dutch label. I just finished up a remix for Antillas. I just had 2 tracks signed on a Silk Royal Compilation. I did a remix for Matt Lange and a remix for Tom Fall. And I also have another release coming up for Enhanced Progressive. And collaboration with Mellefresh for Play Digital.

Anyone looking to see you live in the next little bit, where can we find you?

I have a Friday residency at The Palace in Halifax. I hope to be out gigging in the future but for now catch me every Friday night.

Hit me up on my facebook fan page, soundcloud & Beatport.
