Speaking of rising stars, Alex H is back with another taste of that progressive house that we ALL love.
After a recent signing with Midnight Mood Recordings for ‘Your Truly’ Alex has been on a tear. Evolving quickly and keeping his sounds bordering on a trance/house level he has managed to remix several historic gems likeFragma-Memory, Red Carpet-All Right & Ultrabeat-Pretty Green Eyes with outstanding results.
‘Arun’ is a solid follow up to ‘Your Truly’ and will no doubt make you a believer in this talented up and comer. Grab the Radio Edit below and stay tuned for the extended mix.
Project 46 has had an impressive start to their career and have had an immediate impact in the EDM world.
The duo who JUST released their first track 3 months ago have already seen four Top 5 spots on Hype Machine, an EP in the Top 10 albums on beatport and three Top 5 tracks on iTunes. Pretty impressive to say the least.
Their latest mix- ‘Jigsaw’ samples the haunting voice from the Saw series and once again proves that these guys are onto something big. Throw in a free bootleg of Axwell vs. Coldplay and the title of ‘Rising Star’ is a no brainer.
Bryan Adams has been a Canadian music legend for…ever. ‘Summer of 69’, ‘Cuts Like A Knife’, ‘Heaven’, ’18 Till I Die’ the portfolio is just too big to even discuss on this type of outlet.
We all know he’s conquered the classic rock world but now his 2008 hit ‘Tonight We Have The Stars’ gets the house makeover. An 8 minute house ballad that highlights the nostalgic B.Adams flow that we all know and love
Dezza has been at the top of every one of my playlists for the past year. He’s the king of progressive house in my world and has been building a strong following with tracks like Hefty, Allure, I Wonder… the list goes on
Today he released a FREE bootleg he did for the classic ‘Dreams’ hit from Fleetwood Mac. Also, a preview under his new moniker Ariose is out on beatport and its goooood stuff!
Drumsound & Bassline Smith have literally tortured us for a year with their remix of Utah Saints- ‘What Can You Do For Me’.
Unfortunately they didn’t use traditional methods of torture like tying us to a chair and dripping a single drop of water on our foreheads every minute. Instead they resorted to new school methods of releasing the track as a preview, littered with the voice of Annie Mac throughout it.
If you’re a sucker for punishment, and a fan of top notch drum & bass, give these two previews a listen and mark February 26th on your calendar for the release of ‘What Can You Do For Me’ (on Ministry of Sound) and January 29th for ‘Who Knows’ (on Digital Soundboy Recordings).
We rarely if ever post previews so with that being said, you know this track is going to be BIG!
Afrojack brings us back to ‘Take Over Control’ and leaves us with a track that doesn’t make us want to rip our ears off. Not too bleepy, beautiful vocals and mega drops will no doubt launch this into the sets of anyone with a pulse.
When an artist eventually hits superstardom their fans often cross over into a super form of adoration. This can manifest in fake facebook & twitter accounts, stalking, identity crisis and so on and so forth.
In the case of Avicii, his trademark sound and synths have become subject of copy cats, maybe to cash in on his success or as some sort of weird tribute. Nonetheless fake Avicii tracks are surfacing almost on a weekly basis.
So when we caught wind of this collab with NERVO we immediately had our doubts. After checking several reputable sources (wikipedia… NOT) we can say this track seems 100% legit. to be possibly just a NERVO production. Some are saying Avicii had a hand in the production but is not being credited. Time will tell but for now we’ll leave it as is… stay tuned!
Paul David continues to grow by leaps and bounds with his productions and his newest release is a true sign of musical evolution.
Previously unreleased, ‘Golden’ has surfaced to capture the attention of house heads and contribute to the growing Burner Records imprint.
‘Golden’ will be officially released on Burner Records as part of an EP within the next month but if you have a hankering to play this one out, there may or may not be a zippyshare link out on the intrawebs.
Keep up to date with everything Burner and everything Paul David via Soundcloud
For North Americans, Eric Prydz has been a man of mystery. Never having stepped foot on American soil due to a fear of flying, we have heard his stellar productions but never been able to put a face to the music.
Alongside his aliases- Cirez D and Pryda, he has had another huge year with original mixes ‘2night’, ‘Mirage’, ‘Mokba’ as well as an incredible remix of Digitalism- ‘Circles’.
Much like the mysticism that surrounds his persona, his private remix of M83’s- ‘Midnight City’ has been just that- private. UNTIL NOW!
In between touring, a Las Vegas residency and his weekly Lost World radio show, George Acosta has been giving away some spectacular mashups.
His newest mash ‘Feels Like True Love’ is a 9 minute roller coaster filled with euphoric breakdowns and the signature Michael Woods driving bass line. Throw in some stunning vocals and you have a masterpiece ready to be dropped in your weekend set.
