New Music Video From The Reason

24 Apr

The Reason have really changed since I began listening to them years ago, but I love the progression they have made. I highly doubt they still sell merch that says “The Reason Fuck You” but thats alright, because they are no longer that band. They get played on the radio now and are catering to a more mainstream rock audience. They have been one of my favourite bands for a while and I’ve seen them a handful of times. I also had a random encounter with the lead singer in a mall once, but that story has already been told. Check out the brand new video for Where Do We Go From Here above and go out and pick up Fools, you’ll be glad you did.

Tapioca and The Flea remix Young The Giant

21 Apr

Earlier this week I brought you a Young The Giant remix done by  Two Door Cinema Club, which I really enjoyed. Well Tapioca and the Flea saw that Ambassador Beats had posted that tune and decided to share his interpretation of another Young The Giant song, Islands.

It turns out that Tapioca and the Flea are going on tour next month with Young The Giant, and I’m not surprised based on the quality of this remix.

Tapioca and the Flea is a one-man band of sorts with Samuel Jacob playing a wide variety of musical instruments and electronic music devices that he has collected over the years. Click Here to head to his soundcloud page where you can find some other remixes and music that he has released.

Check out Islands the Tapioca and the Flea remix below, I highly recommend it.

Paul David ft. Illa Scorsese- Sci-Fi High

20 Apr

Stoners around the world will unite today to celebrate a holiday that originated from a group of teenagers back in 1971. According to the ever-reliable Wikipedia:

The term 4:20 was allegedly coined by a group of teenagers in San Rafael, California in 1971. Calling themselves the Waldos, because “their chosen hang-out spot was a wall outside the school,” the group first used the term in connection to a fall 1971 plan to search for an abandoned cannabis crop that they had learned about. The Waldos designated the Louis Pasteur statue on the grounds of San Rafael High School as their meeting place, and 4:20 p.m. as their meeting time. The Waldos referred to this plan with the phrase “4:20 Louis”. Multiple failed attempts to find the crop eventually shortened their phrase to simply “4:20”, which ultimately evolved into a codeword the teens used to mean pot-smoking in general.

In order to equip you with the best possible soundtrack for your 4:20 celebrations, we decided to release the second single from the upcoming Ambassador Beats mixtape- ’21 Dub Street’. The combination of electronic music dj/producer- Paul David and hip hop artist Illa Scorsese is pure gold.

Roll one up, spark it and get SCI-FI HIGH!

Two Door Cinema Club Remix Young The Giant

19 Apr

Two Door Cinema Club just gave the remix treatment to My Body by Young The Giant. This tune is originally off the debut self-titled LP from Young The Giant.

You can definately tell that its a TDCC remix because they leave their distinctive sound all over this track replacing the guitars for synth lines. It’s a nice mix while still maintaining the vocal presence of the original track.

They are offering this track as a free download on We Are Hunted so you should listen to the song below and go cop this tune, add it to your extensive Itunes library.

Break My Heart – Estelle feat. Rick Ross

18 Apr

Estelle is back with her first single off her brand new album All of Me. This song is produced by Don Cannon and features Rick Ross. I really like this track with its old school beat and verse from Rick Ross. I’m excited for Estelle’s new album and Ambassador Beats will have all the updates for you as they happen. You can buy the track here, or wait for the album to drop.

Sunday Bloody Sunday – U2 feat. Jay-Z

18 Apr

U2 embarked on a huge tour last year that stopped in at basically every corner of the world. During the stop in Australia, U2 had Jay-Z join them on stage for a very special rendition of Sunday Bloody Sunday. This song is available on the limited edition U2: Duals LP.

I spotted this at Rap Radar, and it mostly caught my eye because they misspelled the name of the song. What can you expect when you get a rap blog writing on a classic rock band. Check out Sunday Bloody Sunday below.

Barely Blind Free Album Download

18 Apr

Barely Blind are a band out of Beaumont Texas that are preparing to record a full-length this summer and have just offered their 2009 EP My Life With A Giant as a free download.

Although they admit that My Life With A Giant leaves them with a few laughs looking back on it, I really enjoy this EP and can’t wait to see what they could back with on this new full-length.

Barely Blind have made their EP as well as song other songs available to listen to on their Soundcloud page, and you can download the My Life With A Giant EP from their Facebook page.

You can stream the EP below along with a few other songs.

My Favourite Dream Is A Partial Nightmare

18 Apr

I just stumbled upon a great Canadian band that go by the name Ruby Coast. These Aurora Ontario rockers remind me a lot of Tokyo Police Club, and not because they come from the same general area.

Ruby Coast released an album in January titled Whatever This Is and are offering it for free download via their Bandcamp page. Also on their Bandcamp page they offer a free B-sides EP along with a 6 song compilation of early material dating back to 2008.

The more I listen to this album the more I am impressed. There is something different and special about Ruby Coast, I just haven’t put my finger on it just yet. But thats alright, as soon as I figure it out I’ll let you know.

You can stream Whatever This Is below and go download it for free. Do it, it will make your week!

Little Hell Teaser Video

18 Apr

City and Colour front man Dallas Green just released a teaser video that was shot during the recording of Little Hell, the brand new album from City and Colour. This video shows the amazing setting in which Little Hell was shot, kind of ironic actually, but you’ll see what I mean. We posted the first single Fragile Bird almost two weeks ago, and you can check it out here, enjoy.

Denis The Menace & Big World!

14 Apr

Shits been hectic here at the Ambassador Beats headquarters as the winter semester winds down. In celebration of the end of school and the beginning of the nice weather, here is a massive summer tune from 2010. This was at the top of my cruising playlist last year and it needs to pumped loud.

Denis The Menace & Big World ft. Inusa Dawuda- Rainbow (Original Mix)

DJ Stroke Mashup Album

13 Apr

DJ Stroke just unleashed his brand new mixtape Mixing Up A Baker’s Dozen. This mix has a little something for everyone starting off with some pop rock and rap hits mashed up and then it breaks down into a light dubstep section.

This is one of the best mashup albums I’ve heard in a while, and we have it available as a free download. You can stream the album below and go to DJ Strokes bandcamp page to grab it as a pay-what-you-want download, or you can grab it from our link.

12 Apr

Paul David and the Burner Records crew are on a mission to destroy dance floors world wide… wide… wide. If I had to judge I would say Mission Accomplished. But for those of you who haven’t heard already, here is your chance.

It’s tough to categorize Paul David’s productions as they contain so many elements of different genres and subgenres of electronic music. You will hear electro, house, techno, trance, dirty dutch etc. But really what he brings is straight up high energy dance music. I’m talking fist in the air feet off the ground type of shit.

Paul David recently released on EP titled ‘Sunset Electric’ and you can preview and purchase it here

Check out these four tunes plus the upcoming Barletta + Paul David collaboration- The Trust and head over to Burner-Records.com for the all the goods.

12 Apr

Swedish House Mafia took things to the next level this year in Miami with the one night only Masquerade Motel Party. They have just released this highlight reel/promo video from the night plus a preview of their upcoming single ‘Save The World Tonight’ which features vocals from Miike Snow. This is an unreleased track which will no doubt be the summer anthem of 2011. Stay tuned for the official release!
