An icon has passed away and mashup artists from around the world have come together to pay tribute.
Whitney Houston has so many hits that her legacy will live on forever. With the growing popularity of remixing and mashing I have no doubt that we will continue to hear plenty more of these…

It’s about time for another ‘too busy to post music here’s a bunch of sick mashups’ feature.
Now that Bangers & Mash is an official radio show on CJUC 92.5 in Whitehorse, Yukon it only seems fair to give the rest of the world their dose of electronic music.
Four mashups, all FREE and all amazing and if you are one of the 27,000 people that reside in Whitehorse- crank that dial to 92.5FM every Friday night from 8-11pm.
Avicii vs. Adventure Club-Bromance Call (Avicii Vs Adventure Club)

Project 46 has had an impressive start to their career and have had an immediate impact in the EDM world.
The duo who JUST released their first track 3 months ago have already seen four Top 5 spots on Hype Machine, an EP in the Top 10 albums on beatport and three Top 5 tracks on iTunes. Pretty impressive to say the least.
Their latest mix- ‘Jigsaw’ samples the haunting voice from the Saw series and once again proves that these guys are onto something big. Throw in a free bootleg of Axwell vs. Coldplay and the title of ‘Rising Star’ is a no brainer.
D/L both tracks for FREE and check out more from Project 46 on Facebook/Soundcloud

Fareoh is a name that we should all get used to hearing this year.
His first release of 2012 aptly named ‘2012’ has already garnered the attention of some heavy hitters (Hardwell to start) and has racked up a staggering 22,000 plays in just a few weeks.
If you’re not a numbers person then you should let his latest bootleg be the judge of things to come.
While Codhoppers is off making babies in his ivory tower chilling in his rocking chair all day, our e-mail has quickly reached a tipping point.
In an attempt to apologize for not responding to all these great submissions we thought we’d show some love to Dj Enferno for this cool mashup he sent us today.
Calling vs. Sex On Fire is a sure thing for tonight’s festivities and you can find plenty more mashups on his Soundcloud
Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso vs. Kings Of Leon- Sex on Fire (DJ Enferno – The Calling Mashup)
We are STILL suckers for The Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’ so when up & comer Michael Brun dropped a Rebound vs. Sweet Disposition bootleg minutes ago, shit got crazy.
The mashup is part of a two track Bootleg Pack that you can grab here for FREE
And if you missed his latest smasher- ‘Dawn’ check it out via Soundcloud
Arty & Mat Zo vs. The Temper Trap- Sweet Rebound (Michael Brun Mashup)
In between touring, a Las Vegas residency and his weekly Lost World radio show, George Acosta has been giving away some spectacular mashups.
His newest mash ‘Feels Like True Love’ is a 9 minute roller coaster filled with euphoric breakdowns and the signature Michael Woods driving bass line. Throw in some stunning vocals and you have a masterpiece ready to be dropped in your weekend set.
It has been a busy year in the Mashup world to say the least.
As the popularity of the ‘genre’ exploded so did the quality and calibre of mashups. Everybody and their brother went out, bought a mac, downloaded a pirated version of _____ software and began crafting ‘mashups’. Or simply placing vocals over an instrumental.
With the influx of new mashup artists, a divide became apparent. We began seeing more of the Girltalk esq productions with more complicated blending and layering. Thankfully, the bar was raised by guys like D.veloped, R3K and 3LAU (to name a few).
For the sake of this ‘Best Of’ series and my sanity, we have picked our favourite tracks of 2011 based on genres categorized by Beatport. With that being said, our picks are purely based on personal taste and they give remixes the same weight as an original track.
The Winners:
R3K’s ‘remix’ was a aural and viral hit this year. With our beloved Cudder taking a breather this mashup really filled the void and takes the cake for #1 mash of the year.
D.veloped was getting the #2 spot but it was a tough decision on which track. I loved every one of his mashups this year but none got more plays than ‘Throw Some D’s On That Blink’- nostalgia at its best.
The White Panda capitalized on the success of M83’s- Midnight City with the addition of Kanye into the mix. Meanwhile Ken Loi came out of nowhere to create a seamless mashup between Oasis and Pryda which was played out by Tiesto among others.
Pleased to deliver some delectables today just in time for your NYE parties.
Jacob van Hage & Markob27 are back after receiving plenty of support from Tiesto and came equipped with another awesome mashup. The usual mashes from Kaskade, Eddie Thoneick and a great blend from David Puentez… all FREE of course

The year wouldn’t be complete without a DJ Earworm wrap-up. He has been putting out these year end mashups since 2007 and is considered to be a pioneer in the ever growing mashup world.

It’s crazy to see the explosion of mashups. I blame the radio… and technology. We are in a day and age where impatience shines and a song becomes ‘old’ in a days time.
So what satisfies both these issues? Blend multiple songs together to create something new and creative. While many mashups fall short of creating something with staying power, there are a few trusted artists that we can rely on. One of those artists is Mashup Germany.
Behold the anticipated ‘Top Of The Pops’ which brings together the year’s biggest hits into a four minute segment.
From time to time things get hectic here at Ambassador Beats and for days like this we like to throw together something called Gravy & Mash.
This feature will cover all the latest mashups and anything worthy of sprinkling on top. A Thanksgiving sized full course meal of FREE tunes as our way of giving thanks to you!
Basic Physics- Strength In Numbers (Coldplay x Daft Punk x Porter Robinson)
George Acosta vs. Astrix & Jerome Isma-Ae- Never fear The Reunion (George Acosta Mashup)
Avesta vs Adele – “Rolling in Dutchano” (Eddie Thoneick Bootleg)
Kaskade vs. Dada Life – Dynasty Noise (Kaskade Mash Up)
Nari & Milani vs LMFAO vs Prodigy – Im Kendo And I Breathe It (Mikael Weermets Bootleg)
Adele – Someone Like You (Mikael Weermets Rework) [FREE DOWNLOAD]
Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso vs. Rowetta – Be Calling (Ian Carey Mash)
Throughout the duration of a song your mind can go through a variety of emotions. From happy to sad to angry there is no limit to what music can do to our brains.
In the short period between 1:45-2:45 of this crazy bootleg from Mikael Weermets, my level of motivation and energy went from 0 to tipping the scales. This is a perfect floor filler/workout song or just plain motivation to get up in the morning. Must be played LOUD!
Deniz Koyu’s ‘Hertz’ hasn’t really been herting for attention. The track has been essential in the latest onslaught of mashups and bootlegs and Kaskade’s latest FREE Monday mashup is proof.
Also, if you missed Tiesto’s Club Life last week then get yourself acquainted with Makj & Politik whose ‘Hertz’ mashup was featured on the show.
Kaskade vs. Deniz Koyu – It’s You It’s Hertz (Kaskade Mash Up)
Deniz Koyu Vs Fat Boy Slim – Hertz Ya Mama (MAKJ & POLITIK Bootleg)
I don’t know how this one slipped threw the cracks but thankfully we didn’t completely miss the boat on Project 46. The Canadian duo have released some excellent mashups and tore up the Hype Machine charts last week with their two new original tracks.
But this mashup takes the cake for me. I wasn’t a huge fan of Hardwell’s ‘Cobra’ but with the addition of ‘Everything is gonna be Alright’ this is a biggg big tune. Find plenty more HERE.
Hardwell vs Red Carpet – Cobra is Gonna Be Alright (Project 46 Mashup)
Vico Ono always strikes when the irons hot and with the success of Childish Gambino’s latest album i’d say this is perfect timing. He takes the standout track ‘Bonfire’ and mixes it with the always pleasant instrumental from ‘Under The Bridge’.
Download ‘Bonfire Under The Bridge’ below and head over to Vico Ono’s Soundcloud page for many more mashups.
Childish Gambino vs. Red Hot Chili Peppers- Bonfire Under The Bridge (Vico Ono Mashup)
My apologies, I had planned to bring this to you last night but completely forgot when I got home from work and never got back to my computer.
This is another great mashup from DJ Stroke, but would you expect anything less? This tune features aspects from Feed Me, Nero, Newton, Skrillex and Kaskade. Now my knowledge on these artists is slightly lacking so I wouldn’t be able to tell you which artists add which part to the song, but I’m sure The Conductor would be able to and he will love this track.
Check out the stream and download link below. Download it while you still can.
