Hazem Beltagui has been on our radar for some time now and after our Rising Star feature a few months back, the Egyptian born DJ has only reaffirmed his status as a producer on the brink.

His two latest originals- ‘And Time Stood Still’ & ‘Sun Goes Down’ embody the progressive touch that he consistently delivers with the trancey breakdowns that we all crave.

Lil Jon Ft. LMFAO- Drink (Extended Mix)

18 Feb

Saturday night festivities need Saturday night tunes.

Like it or not LMFAO have been at the forefront of providing us with the crowd pleasing, dance floor filling, sing a long hits that have been fuelling our weekends since Party Rock was released back in ’08.

They once again team up with Lil Jon for a follow up to Shots that is equally as simplistic and effective.

Zedd- Stars Come Out (Tim Mason Remix)

16 Feb

Tim Mason has been flying under the radar for some time now and with remixes like the one below, that is all going to change in 2012.

His ‘Stars Come Out’ remix is a beautiful proggy house number that accentuates the vocals like no other remix has been able to do. Of all the tracks in the remix pack, this one stands out and is in my professional opinion, better than the original.

You can buy this track as well as the star studded remix pack on Beatport

Martin Solveig & Dragonette- Hello (Speaker of the House Remix)

16 Feb

I really thought we were done with the ‘Hello’ remixes but I believe we have a late bloomer here.

Speaker Of The House- a Philly native, has constructed a pleasant dubstep remix which gives the vocals a chop and the bassline some much needed wobble.

Check it out as well as some new stuff on his Soundcloud

Beyoncé – End Of Time (The Dirty Tees Remix)

16 Feb

Following the career of The Dirty Tees has been one of the cooler backseat experiences I’ve had since starting this blog.

The guys have always been super talented and as their releases increased people started to take notice. Originally hailing from Oakville, Ontario the duo produced a remix of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Touch’ among other things in their first year. The track led to huge internet buzz and the songstress reached out to the guys. Suddenly they found themselves flying out to LA to work on some tracks with her and pursue a full time career in music.

Flash forward a year and they are on the verge of taking things to the next level. A win in the Beyoncé remix competition would really help and with your vote we can make this happen.

Listen to their remix below and if you’re feeling it, go Vote and watch as one of Canada’s most exciting acts blows up.

16 Feb

An icon has passed away and mashup artists from around the world have come together to pay tribute.

Whitney Houston has so many hits that her legacy will live on forever. With the growing popularity of remixing and mashing I have no doubt that we will continue to hear plenty more of these…

Kaskade And Deadmau5 – Move For Me (TABS Remix)

12 Feb

Now this is a fresh remix. Phoenix based Djs Swookie Monster and Speedy Graffiti have teamed up for another remarkable remix under their TABS moniker.

They have taken the legendary collaboration ‘Move For Me’ from Kaskade & Deadmau5 and given it a face lift. A different pitch, an array of original instrumentals and a completely different vibe make this a big winner.

Hit these guys up on Facebook for a FREE download and show some love on Hype Machine.

Jay-Z & Kanye West – Niggas In Paris (Clark Kent Remix)

8 Feb

This track is the definition of overplayed so it’s only right that Clark Kent swooped in to revive the standout hit from ‘Watch The Throne’.

Hov and ‘Ye are no strangers to dubstep and after the Flux Pavilion sample on ‘Who Gon Stop Me’ it was only a matter of time before we heard their smooth flow mixed with some wobble.

Clark Kent does a great job of keeping the integrity of the original while adding in his own magic touch and it all adds up to a winning combination.

Skrillex- Mothership Tour (Short Film)

6 Feb

I can’t help but sit back in awe at the year that young Sonny Moore has had.

On top of the grammy nods, countless releases and collaborations he has toured the world playing festivals and shows almost non-stop. He has gone from riding the coattails of label head Deadmau5 to sitting at the top of not only the electronic music hierarchy, but the entire MUSIC INDUSTRY.

Love him or hate him he has become an icon and a brand all at the same time and there is no sight of this changing anytime soon. Check out the 10 minute short film which captures a glimpse into the exciting life of one of the world’s most popular artists.

Go Buy: Feed Me- Escape From Electric Mountain EP [Mau5trap]

6 Feb

Feed Me is back with another wild aural adventure full of dubstep, electro, dnb, house and his signature next level touch.

Just a week after label mate Moguai dropped Mpire, Feed Me stepped up to release another highly touted EP on Mau5trap. The 6 track EP is a full on journey and the diversity is easy to see with tracks like Relocation vs. One Click Head Shot. Both are easily my favourite tracks but so completely different and unique.

This is an album that I would classify as ‘forward thinking’ and is definitely worth the ‘Go Buy’ status.

Tom Fall & Heikki L feat. Ben Andreas – Ordinary World (Original Mix)

6 Feb

Is it just me or has there been a house music drought?

I’ve been waiting patiently for something special to drop and not to my surprise, Tom Fall is the one to end the winter blues.

He teamed up with fellow Fin Heikki L and singer Ben Andreas to create this epic masterpiece. A true progressive house cut with all the fixings and the support from Armada to propel it onto the next level.

You should probably go BUY this and support some of the finest new music on the planet.

Foxes – Youth (Adventure Club Dubstep Remix)

3 Feb

Since Codhoppers took some time off to make babies, Ambassador Beats has kind of turned into my personal playlist gone public.

We’ll probably lose lots of readers due to the lack of hip hop/indie/rock etc. that doesn’t fall under the ELECTRONIC MUSIC umbrella but that’s ok cause it’s still fun as ever to post music that I love.

With that being said, Adventure Club are killing it right now. Everything they release is AMAZING and FREE. Two of my favourite things. Grab the latest dubstep assault and check these guys out on Soundcloud

Fenech Soler- Demons (Minnesota Remix)

1 Feb

Minnesota is known for transforming classics (B.I.G- Juicy, Mama’s & The Papa’s- California Dreaming to name a few) into bass heavy crowd pleasers.

His latest work, a remix to Fenech Soler’s ‘Demons’ is a treat for the eardrums. Throw the headphones on and escape to some soothing dubstep and check out more from Minnesota on his Soundcloud & Facebook

Go Buy: Moguai- Mpire (Mau5trap)

1 Feb

Moguai dropped his two year in the making masterpiece on Mau5trap yesterday and it lives up to the expectations.

His first album- We Are Lyve destroyed the charts in 2010 and won over the hearts of EDM aficionado’s with tracks like ‘Blau’ and ‘Oyster’. ‘Blau’ in particular really stood out and was quickly added to my ‘songs that make me feel warm and fuzzy inside’ list.

Mpire is a 14 track EP filled with progressive melodies, bouncy baselines and a feel good vibe. The opening track- ‘Smyle’ makes you wanna do just that and is a testament to the rest of the album.

Do yourself a favour and buy Moguai-Mpire. It’s value and impact are comparable to that of regular sessions with a therapist, minus the cost.

TMac ft. Illa Scorsese & Bravo- Might Get It

31 Jan

I rarely listen to Hip Hop anymore but when I do, it’s either classics from Biggie or new stuff from Illa Scorsese.

I’m not trying to make comparisons but they both possess that extra, hard to pinpoint quality. The clever lyricism, overall presence and demeanour demand your attention.

So when Illa threw up the live version of ‘Might Get It’ everything clicked for me. He is exactly what hip hop should be. Having fun, laying down bars with some buddies and just enjoying music and its endless possibilities.

Hats off to Illa and hats off to TMac, Bravo and whoever made this beat.

For full credits watch the video cause it’s got more shoutouts than a DJ Clue jam

Switch Fusion- Oceans (Original Mix)

31 Jan

Switch Fusion show us what Liquid Drum N Bass should sound like- pure bliss.

Right from the start this had me in a constant state of euphoria. And just when you thought the soothing sounds of the ocean and the building melody were going to put you to sleep, they drop some BASS in the mix to round this one out.

Grab this one fo’ FREE and check out more from the 18 year old on Soundcloud.

Bangers & Mash

29 Jan

It’s about time for another ‘too busy to post music here’s a bunch of sick mashups’ feature.

Now that Bangers & Mash is an official radio show on CJUC 92.5 in Whitehorse, Yukon it only seems fair to give the rest of the world their dose of electronic music.

Four mashups, all FREE and all amazing and if you are one of the 27,000 people that reside in Whitehorse- crank that dial to 92.5FM every Friday night from 8-11pm.

Nero – Must Be The Feeling (Delta Heavy Remix)

26 Jan

Holy shit have you heard of Delta Heavy??? Me neither… until today.

They took Nero’s ‘Must Be The Feeling’ and tazered it with 5000 volts of pure bass and glitchy dubstep. The UK duo categorize their music under Drum n Bass/House/Dubstep but this remix is something out of this world. A distinct disco vibe mixed with some moombahton? Whatever it is it’s f*cking AWESOME!
