Afrojack- Bangduck (Moguai Remix)

5 Jul

This one will definitely be making the rounds across the intraweb and we had to contribute in spreading the good word. I’m not a big afrojack fan but Moguai takes this one up a few notches. Progressive, techy with the characteristic bleeps and bloops from Afrojack this one is stinkier than a duck fart… get it while its hot

Kid Massive + Roger Sanchez

10 Jun

Finding good quality music has been like pulling teeth over the past few weeks, but thankfully we have Kid Massive and Roger Sanchez to carry us through these hard times.

I made some bold statements about Kid Massive’s new track ‘A Little Louder’ and although it may not be THE track of summer, I am standing by its unquestionable ability to destroy dance floors, top international music charts and forcibly take over your Itunes most played list. Last week we gave you the bassjackers remix and today I am going to sweeten the pot with the Muzzaik Remix. This is my favourite remix of the bunch as it brings a perfectly crafted tech house spin which builds momentum for 3 minutes until Peyton tells us to turn it up a little louder… we are teased for another minute until the beat finally drops again at the 5 minute mark. This track is not for the inpatient listener so if big buildups are your thing than fuckin turn this upppp.

Kid Massive & Peyton- A Little Louder (Muzzaik Remix)

If you haven’t already grabbed the original, buy it as well as the remix package from beatport.

The second standout track that needs to be shared is the Bobby Burns remix of Roger Sanchez’s new heater- ‘Worldwide’. This is the perfect start to your set as it has all the elements of a big room party starter including the chant like vocals, dirty dutch synths and a driving bassline. You can buy the original here and PLEASE download both of these tracks to get you through the weekend!

Get Funky

1 Jun

Last weekend’s Space Ibiza party in Toronto went off with standout sets from Adam Beyer, Jay Lumen and obviously Adam K. The turnout wasn’t great and Oliver Ingrosso didn’t get any love but nonetheless we came and partied hard. The Tech-house room was by far the biggest hit of the night and I left craving more deep and techy house beats. Luckily I stumbled upon this years edition of Ibiza Weapons. Alex Kenji and Federico Scavo get my vote for standout track with ‘Get Funky’. If you’re into driving basslines, big buildups and heavy drops then this one is for you.

Movement 2011 + John Acquaviva

12 May

Its almost that time of the year where electronic music fans, media, djs and producers flock to Hart Plaza in Detroit for the annual Detroit Electronic Music Festival known as Movement. I went last year for the first time and stepping off the bus in Detroit was like walking into a different planet. After witnessing jaw dropping sets from guys like Excision, A-Trak and Orlando Voorn we quickly got situated at the Vitamin Water stage where London native John Acquaviva stole the night with an onslaught of techno and tech house beats. For those who don’t know…

Movement has become the ultimate stage for the city that founded techno music to showcase its electronic music muscle.

Starting at Noon on Saturday, May 28th Techno heads, House heads and electronic dance music enthusiasts from across the globe will pour through the turnstiles at Detroit’s Hart Plaza for the start of Movement 2011. And for the next three days and nights they will have a chance to experience the ultimate outdoor electronic music venue. 36 hours of music; 4 stages and more than 70 electronic music artists and DJs. Last year’s attendance nearly reached 90,000 over the three days of the festival.

This year Movement is bringing in a lot of talent including heavy hitters Carl Craig, Fatboy Slim, Richie Hawtin, Calvertron, Felix Da Housecat and Skrillex. If you haven’t already grab your weekend pass over at the Movement Electronic Music Fest facebook page

With WMC 2011 just around the corner you can bet that Ambassador Beats will be keeping you in the loop with all the new music that will be infiltrating our speakers come March. It is going to be interesting to see how things pan out down in Miami with the Conference being at the start of the month and Ultra falling near the end of March. Corporate greed has definitely set in and it is obvious with the separation of the two events that there is a shift in the purpose of this annual event. Many artists have spoken out about WMC and Ultra and many have shown their anger towards club owners and the organizers of both events. Some have even gone as far as having their own events separate from Ultra (SHM) and once again fans and music goers will be torn between when to head down to Miami. It seems that it has turned into a game between who can attract the most people and this takes away from the whole purpose of this event- the music. Regardless, thousands will flock down to hear the latest and greatest tunes from all over the world and djs/producers will be showing off their productions in one of the most anticipated events of the year. Stay tuned for more coverage on upcoming releases for WMC and enjoy this tech-house ‘banger’ from Mark Knight & Michael Woods which is off Toolroom Records Miami 2011 compilation. Buy it here.

In For The Remix

5 Sep

Remixes can do wonders for an artist. For instance, the success of UK’s La Roux has been partially due to the overwhelming amount of remixes to tracks such as ‘Bulletproof’, ‘Im Not Your Toy’, ‘Quicksand’ and ‘In For The Kill’. I will be the first to admit that I over played the sh*t out of La Roux on The Rinse last year but I couldnt and still cant stop playing their tracks. To my delight, Michael Woods dropped a new remix to once again remind us of how good this tune is. He brings his signature deep/tech house feel making this a club friendly jam. Bonus: Skream’s Lets Get Ravey Remix for a darker spin to to the original. Track was featured on Entourage a few weeks back and has definetly garnered some well deserved attention. On a side note, check out our friends at Remix.vg for the best in mashups, remixes and covers.
